Overview: what Trezor® Bridge does
Trezor® Bridge is a lightweight, locally running service that enables secure USB communication between your Trezor® hardware wallet and desktop software or browser-based flows. When you use the Trezor® Suite (desktop or web) or visit trezor.io/start, Bridge translates USB requests so the Suite can present accounts, request signatures, and apply firmware updates — without exposing your recovery seed.
Download & installation
To get started, always go to trezor.io/start. Choose the recommended Trezor® Suite App for a full management experience or install Trezor® Bridge alone if you prefer the web flow. After downloading the Trezor® Bridge installer for Windows, macOS, or Linux, run the installer and follow prompts. Rebooting or reconnecting your device may be required for permissions to take effect.
Connecting: Trezor® Wallet login and verification
Once Bridge is running, open Trezor® Suite or the supported browser interface and connect your Trezor® device. The Suite will detect the device and prompt for device confirmation. Use your physical device to approve logins and transactions — this ensures your private keys remain on the hardware and never touch your computer.
Common problems & troubleshooting
If you encounter Trezor® login not working, Unable to login Trezor, or Can't verify Trezor® Wallet, try these steps:
- Confirm Trezor® Bridge is installed and the Bridge process is running.
- Update Trezor® Suite and Bridge to the latest versions from trezor.io/start.
- Swap USB cable and port (use a data-capable cable, not a charge-only cable).
- Temporarily disable browser extensions or privacy tools that block USB devices.
- Run the Suite as administrator or check macOS/Linux USB permissions.
Errors that require deeper action
“Error connecting Trezor® account” or persistent connection failures may indicate a driver or OS-level conflict. On Windows, allow the Bridge through firewall rules and reinstall the Bridge driver. On macOS, ensure the system grants permission for USB access. If the device firmware prompts, follow Suite instructions to update — but always verify you are on the official site before proceeding.
Account recovery & security notes
Trezor® Account Recovery is performed using your recovery seed on a compatible device or recovery tool — Bridge does not hold your keys. There is no central Trezor® 2fa reset; two-factor authentication for exchanges or services is separate from your hardware wallet and must be handled with those providers. Never share your seed or enter it on a website; only use trusted, official flows.
When to contact support
If you still receive “Trezor® Suite App not working” messages after basic troubleshooting, collect logs from the Suite and consult the Trezor® Help Center. Provide device fingerprints, Suite version, OS version, and a clear error message to speed up resolution.
